When life give you lemons make meatballs........

Well, what to do you say when you know you and your family are going to be social distancing for the long haul? We need FOOD AND WINE, of course!

I want my family to look back at this time and say we enjoyed our time together. Yeah, I know, if we don't drive each other crazy. My husband and I want to teach our children that when you are given lemons, you make lemonade. We are not going to dwell on the negative (but we can complain about it sometimes - you need to vent besides those walks around the neighborhood;). Our family decided to create a journal about our cooking AND our wine pairings during this time.

Our first meal..............

My helper, Luciana, is an excellent meatball maker! I think she likes to be my helper because she wants to be the first one to be the test taster :)

shiitake stems, celery, carrots,

Parmesan Reggiano rind

& chicken broth

We reduced the broth down to a wonderful flavor of shiitakes, Parmesan Reggiano and chicken stock but there was not enough. We cheated with store bought tortellini - next time we will make our own.

We all agreed to make this dinner again.

That looks delicious. I think you should send some frozen meatballs down to SC. I wish we were quarantined together!

I love your lemon 🍋 rating system and can’t wait for the recipe and see what the Offredos make next.

WOW!! You are learning some great skills that will serve you well for your entire lifetime. You got some of my spaghetti - so where is my share of the meatballs? Papa Morse
